About Sole D
Sole Discretion Dance Company was founded in 2005 by Artistic Director Ms. Kelly Ann Vitacca. In 2006 Executive Director, Ms. Loni Peterson joined the leading staff followed by Rehearsal Director Mrs. Melanie Kendall Davis. In its first years of existence, Sole Discretion had a team of seven dancers which has now grown to over 20 company members.
Sole Discretion's goal is to offer an enriching and artistic experience to dancers that desire to grown to the next level. The company offers numerous performing opportunities including: community outreach performances along with competitive events across the Houston area. Sole Discretion's season begins every August with its annual Choreography Workshop. This workshop gets the dancers excited and sweating with new choreography for the season! Following August, company members have the change to take dynamic classes from the best teachers in Los Angeles and NYC at three dance conventions, including: JUMP, NYCDA, and L.A. Dance Magic.
In January, competition events begin! Sole Discretion attends five to seven competition events annually, such as: JUMP, Star Power, MOVE, NUVO, Dance Showcase USA, and Showstoppers. The company is proud to be a strong competition receiving High Gold and Platinum trophies along with Best Choreography and Most Entertaining awards. Along with Sole Discretion's many competitive achievements, company members continue to show their talent by winning convention, summer intensive and dance training scholarships from the leading organizations in the industry.
As Sole Discretion dances into its 8th year, it will continue to offer a fun and educational dance experience that will surely receive standing ovations!
