HADco is the competitive dance team of the Houston Academy of Dance. It affords an excellent opportunity for our students to showcase their performance talents for a host of adjudicators through a yearly season. The goals of HADco are to inspire dancers to improve their dance technique using competitive performing as a vehicle, to improve their ability to memorize and execute choreography, to dance as a member of a dance ensemble, to consider professional careers, and to have fun meeting new friends and inspiring experiences in dance. HADco is comprised of students currently enrolled in ballet and jazz. Members of HADco participate in class and rehearsal weekly. During the season, the team attends dance conventions, and competitions. These are in addition to participation in our Annual Summer Intensive and Season Choreography Workshop. As dancers progress within the team, opportunities to compete solo, duet, or trio dances are possible.
HADco auditions are held yearly in May for students who are in levels Ballet I and/or Jazz I and above.
