For
more detailed class information or student placement recommendation,
please call the HAD studio at 281.497.4783 during office hours (3-8 pm
Monday through Thursday). Our receptionist will be happy to answer your
questions.
HAD offers two separate tracks of study:
the Graded Pre-professional Program and the Leisure Dance Program.
The
Graded Program is for the more serious
student. Once a dancer progresses into Level I where all the dance styles
are offered in separate classes, certain requirements for advancement are
mandatory such as attendance; twice weekly ballet classes in addition to
any other styles you choose to study; required continuation of study
during the summer for Level II and up; and mastery of skills and
vocabulary. In order to study pointe, students must stay in a graded
ballet program.
Most students continue this track until
Level III-IV. At this point in their dance studies, the students are
usually entering middle school. Some students decide that ballet, which is
required for all other upper level classes is not their focus; or they no
longer have the time to commit to the required number of times they must
attend weekly in order to stay in their current level. Students may need
dance only to supplement another activity such as gymnastics, musical
theatre, drill team, cheerleading, etc.

OTHER PROGRAMS |
|
|
|
|
Leisure Dance
Program
Teen and adult students can take ballet, jazz, modern, tap and hip hop on
the same levels offered in the Graded Program without the stringent
requirements. There is no ballet requirement for any of the classes. The
only exception to this is if the student wants to continue their jazz in
the graded program. If they chose to do this, they must enroll in a ballet
class offered in the leisure program. The required attendance is once a
week.
The number of students in
the class desiring to perform will determine participation in the year-end
production. Poor attendance will preclude the class from performing.

Summer Intensive
Workshop
Held
annually, the
Intensive Workshop is a special
opportunity for intermediate and advanced students whose desire is to
dramatically advance their technical skills as well as to improve their
performance confidence.
Concentrated study with exceptional teachers who bring to the classroom
the knowledge, motivation and expectation of the professional world of
dance, have inspired our students to new heights of accomplishment summer
after summer.
Exposure to the many styles of dance taught by a variety of special guest
artists and our staff teachers will not only benefit those who dream to
dance professionally, but also those who love to dance as recreation. |
